As I pondered the question, “What years did you attend CCS?” I found it easier to count the years that I did not attend. From the ages of five to nineteen, I was affiliated with CCS on some level. I, of course, attended from preschool to graduation, but I interned in our mutli-arts program LETOUR for two years after graduating. I have countless memories all to do with school, friendship, sports, theatre, hard life moments, and my biggest triumphs. In 2019 I moved to Jacksonville, Florida, attended UNF and graduated in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in English. I moved from Jacksonville to Texas, back to Jacksonville and finally landed in my sweet hometown, Tallahassee in 2024.
It is difficult to articulate what Community Christian School means to me. Three of my closest, current friendships were made in the halls of the elementary building. My love for performing and collaborative creativity was cultivated on the red carpet of the auditorium. My passion for creative writing and the humanities was stoked by teachers who believed in the gifts the Lord had given me, pushed me to hone my skills and find God in the beauty of words. Now, that role of “championing teacher” is mine. I stand at the front of an English classroom where I occupied a student’s desk years ago. I direct vocalists in LETOUR on a stage I performed on for years. I strive to encourage students in the Lord, help them rekindle a love for reading, and urge them to pursue what brings them Joy. Teaching at CCS has been the most joyous, shaping, and fulfilling homecoming.
In my free time, you will often find me at the movie theatre, Starbucks, or Books-a-million. I have been married for six years to my high school sweetheart, Kevin. We have two cats, Midnight (20) and Ramsay (4) who would undoubtedly be attending CCS if they were not of the feline species.
Lastly, I wanted to take a moment to say a special thank you to my dad, Tom Argersinger, head of school at CCS. My whole life dad has shown me the value of a great education, the benefit of speaking, writing, and thinking well. I have always appreciated that though leadership can be a heavy burden he has sought God’s beauty in all things. In my case, the cliche does ring true that I would not be who I am without him.
