Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year at Community Christian School!

It was a great pleasure for me to greet so many new VPK & Kindergarten families earlier this week. I love imagining the students walking off the graduation stage at CCS, not-so-many years in the future. The time will fly!

God has invested so much of Himself in the ministry of CCS, and we are eternally grateful. Without that investment, our school would not exist.

We also have a wonderful cohort of new employees, all hand-picked for their talent, faith, and buy-in to the CCS Way. Please join in praying for them, and all of the CORPs.

You will notice this year that some new construction projects are not yet complete: the perimeter fence, the primary playground, and the Main Office Reception area. We, like many other organizations, have experienced unexpected delays in shipping, materials, and items such as doors and cabinets. We are trusting in God to provide all that we need, in His time.

Through all of this, our CORPS members have continued to work hard and focus on preparing for the best year yet in the long history of CCS!

Our theme for this year is Be Wholehearted.

This is drawn from many texts; perhaps foremost among those is the Great Commandment passage in Matthew 22, where we are called to love the LORD our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves.

Of course we realize that no one is perfect – yet what we are emphasizing in that theme is bending of our heart toward the fullness of Jesus Christ, to behold Him in His glory and to become more like Him as we walk this earthly life.

I speak for the entire CORPs when I say that we see our work with your children and grandchildren as a calling, one that is near to our hearts, and well worth our best efforts to fulfill. Pray for us as we encounter the spiritual warfare that is common to God’s work done in God’s way.

I am reminded of our abject need for the power and peace of God to rule in our lives in order for us to make this happen on a daily basis. Pray we would be filled with His Word and His Spirit.

He is with us. He is sovereign. And He is so very good.

As we leap into the new school year, let’s covenant and agree with one another to link our arms to point these precious children to Jesus, and to educate them in such a way that they are well equipped to see His handiwork everywhere they look, and to bring the light of the gospel of the Kingdom to every person they encounter.

This is our privilege, and this is our joy. Come Holy Spirit, come!

May God bless you and all of us with a wonderful year!

For CCS and the Kingdom,

Tom
