Rebecca (Burns) Musil

I was a student at CCS during my 6th -8th grade years (1998-2001). I have many great memories from CCS. In 6th grade, I had the privilege of playing the lead in the school’s performance of the musical Annie, which was an amazing experience that I will always cherish.

After leaving CCS, I went to high school at Chiles, then to TCC and FSU, where I majored in Creative Writing. My husband, Cameron Musil, and I got married in 2010, and we are members of Deer Lake Church. After working in insurance for about 11 years, I became a stay-at-home mama for our now 4-year-old son, Max, and our 3-month-old daughter, Lucy. I love to read, write, crochet, watch movies, and spend time with family.

At CCS, the small classes made it much easier to get any extra help I needed from the teachers and to get to know the other students better. The faculty cared about the students and focused not just on teaching us academically but also on cultivating Christian character in each of us.

I had opportunities that I wouldn’t have had at a larger school, such as playing on the volleyball team and being a member of the band. Even though I wasn’t that good at sports or music, I really enjoyed being able to experience them at CCS. Everyone who wanted to be on the team or in the band was able to participate.

CCS is a wholesome, protective environment. It is vitally important not only to protect young minds from evil but also to fill those minds with the Lord, as Community Christian School’s faculty strove to do. I greatly benefited from this, and I hope to send my children to CCS as well.
